Lalitpur, Feb 16: Two dozens of candidates out of total 71 for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) in Lalitpur district have taken permission for opening bank accounts. There are three electoral constituencies.
The permission was granted by the District Election Office, Lalitpur. The voting under the HoR polls is taking place on March 5.
According to Office’s election officer Samita Basnet, such number of electoral candidates is from various political parties and independent as well.
The Election Commission has already issued the ‘House of Representatives Members Election Publicity Bank Account Operation and Management Procedure, 2082 BS’. As per the procedure, every political party and election candidate is required to have a separate bank account to make expenditures for the election publicity campaign.
There are 28 electoral candidates: 12 independent, 25 males and three females from Lalitpur-1; 23: seven independent and 16 from various political parties from Lalitur-2 that has two women candidates.
Total number of candidates from Lalitpur-3 stands at 20. Though 23 had registered the candidacy from the constituency, three had later withdrawn the candidacies.
