Kathmandu, June 22: According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the influence of monsoon winds is currently affecting the entire areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces.
The department said that some parts of Gandaki Province and a few eastern areas of Lumbini Province are also under the influence of monsoon winds.
There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province tonight.
For Tuesday and Wednesday, the department forecast generally cloudy conditions in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country, as well as in the Terai areas of Koshi Province. Partly cloudy weather is expected in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
During these two days, a few places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces may receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Snowfall is also possible in some Himalayan areas.
Meanwhile, there is a possibility of a heat wave in some parts of the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some Terai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may also experience hot days over the next two days.
This year’s monsoon entered Nepal on Friday, June 19.
