3 security personnel killed in NW Pakistan blast

At least three security personnel were killed and three others injured when a blast hit a vehicle of security forces in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Saturday.

According to the police, the vehicle carrying the security personnel was passing through the Barqambarkhel area of the district when the bomb exploded by a remote control device.

Police said that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device.

The blast also damaged nearby vehicles and created panic in the area, said the police, adding that security officials were the target of the blast.

The injured security personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital.

After the blast, a heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies along with bomb disposal squad reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

No group or person has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
