Abuja, April 9 : At least 60 people were killed in armed attacks in northwestern Nigeria.
Local authorities reported that at least 20 people were killed in the town of Irina in the Shiroro area of Niger State.
At the same time, gunmen carried out deadly raids on several towns in Kebbi State, leaving more than 40 others dead.
Several Nigerian states are facing a security crisis, with armed gangs looting villages, kidnapping residents, and spreading fear, alongside the presence of active militant groups in the northwest seeking to expand their influence southward.
