2,903 drivers penalized for breaching traffic rules

Kathmandu, April 25: A total of 2,903 people have been penalized for breaching traffic regulations within the past 24 hours. As a result, revenue worth Rs 2.5 million has been collected in fines from the violators.

As reported by the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 127 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol, 281 for engaging in ride sharing contrary to regulations, 200 for disregarding traffic signals, and 176 for exceeding speed limits.

In addition, 312 individuals were penalized for failing to adhere to lane discipline, 65 for honking in restricted areas, 74 for not following the proper procedures for boarding and alighting passengers at designated locations, and 1,499 for violating various other traffic regulations.
