Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi affirmed his country’s support for maintaining the momentum of the ceasefire and peace talks, reflecting the shared aspirations of countries in the region and the international community.
This came during a phone call between Wang Yi and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, during which both sides reviewed the latest developments in the Iran-US negotiations.
For his part, the Iranian foreign minister briefed his Chinese counterpart on the latest updates in the talks, affirming Iran’s readiness to continue seeking a rational and practical solution through peace negotiations.
He also expressed appreciation for China’s ongoing efforts to ease tensions in the region and voiced hope that Beijing would play a positive role in promoting peace and ending the war.
In turn, Wang Yi stressed that the international community was jointly calling for the restoration of normal navigation in the strait, affirming China’s readiness to continue its efforts to de-escalate tensions, strengthen relations among regional countries, and play a constructive role in achieving lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
