Patan. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has emphasized that the public’s interest and sentiments should be kept at the center when making laws and regulations. Addressing the closing ceremony of a training organized for parliamentarians by the party’s training department today, he instructed them to focus on the responsibility of making laws rather than making social prestige a standard of success.
Chairman Lamichhane clarified that ordinances have been brought to solve the problems in the country and that the government led by the party will not deviate from the public interest. “The government is taking thoughtful steps, and there is no need to regret the decisions made by the government so far,” he said. “Ordinances have been brought to take some law-making processes on a ‘fast track’. Ordinances have been brought to improve policy weaknesses and speed up development work, and we have not made any decisions that will cause difficulty to the country and citizens. We are concerned about the love of the people and the future of the country.”
Chairman Lamichhane urged the parliamentarians not to think that they are all-accomplished just because they won the election, stating that the Nepali people have given the RSP a mandate for change. He mentioned that in the past, other political parties brought about change through continuous struggle, and now the responsibility to change the condition of the people has fallen on their shoulders, emphasizing the need to work accordingly.
“In the past, parties overthrew autocratic rule through continuous struggle. Although there are some disagreements with the parties that embarked on the journey of change by risking their lives, we have not had to struggle as much as they did,” he said. “Yesterday, the system changed, but the situation did not change, which is why the people trusted us. People affiliated with various political parties have left their parties and voted for us, so no one should be disrespected.”
Chairman Lamichhane instructed the parliamentarians to play a constructive role in nation-building, stating that the general public, society, and the country are watching them. “We are not on a journey to write biographies, but to write history. Therefore, it is not yet time to demand the value of contribution to the party. Now, let’s all unite and engage in a revolution to change the situation,” he said.
Chairman Lamichhane said that the government will give rights to all landless and homeless people. “We will work according to the promises we made in the election. We will permanently solve the problem of the landless by forming a high-level commission. We are committed to ensuring the rights of all in accordance with the spirit of the constitution,” he said.
Chairman Lamichhane said that the Chief Justice was recommended in accordance with the constitutional provision. He informed that the government is busy preparing the budget and has discussed it with the Finance Minister to make it excellent. He expressed the view that the state’s capacity will be increased by considering the entire country as our constituency.
Chairman Lamichhane said that the government is working in a way that gives a positive message to the general public and that continuous vigilance to make the government’s role more effective is always expected.
