Beirut, May 26 : Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on eastern and southern Lebanon today, killing 12 people and injuring three others.
Israeli artillery shelling also targeted several towns in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts of southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, parts of the southern suburbs of Beirut saw an influx of displaced residents following Israeli threats to expand attacks in the country.
According to the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks since March 2 has risen to 3,185 dead and 9,633 injured.
The Israeli entity continues its attacks on southern Lebanon despite a truce agreement that went into effect on April 16 and was extended for a second time on May 15 for a period of 45 days, amid growing warnings over deteriorating security and humanitarian conditions in the region.
