Kathmandu, June 12: The Ministry of Education and Sports has formed a 3-member committee to investigate into the alleged involvement of employees on recommendation of study visa.

The committee has been formed under the coordination of joint secretary at Ministry, Chandra Kant Bhusal, which would carry out probe into the involvement of employees in preparing letters and documents made for the study visa.

The members of the committee are undersecretary (law) Gopi Krishna Regmi and section officer Gunaraj Bhattarai. The panel has been given seven days for submitting the report. They would study the weaknesses at employees’ level in document verification and process.

The probe was forwarded after the study documents recommended in the name of Valmiki Vidyapeeth were found phoney. The Ministry has already urged the subordinates to stop further process on the recommendation made to foreign citizens in terms of visa grant.

Study visa is linked to credibility of entire system, so further administrative and legal actions would be forwarded accordingly. Earlier, the Ministry had written to the Home Ministry to advance probe on use of suspicious documents and fake bills.
