Art, literature nation’s identity, complement prosperity: Minister Dr. Timilsina

Kathmandu, June 13: Minister for Information and Communication Dr. Bikram Timilsina has said that prosperity stays incomplete without preservation and promotion of art, literature, language and culture  because they make up the basis of strength and identity of a nation.

Speaking at the ‘Madhupark Felicitation 2083’ programme organized by the Gorkhapatra Corporation today, the Minister viewed that development of development of language, literature and culture should be taken in parallel with that of physical infrastructure and economic indicators of a nation.

“Art and literature make up identity and strength of a nation,” said the Minister, “A nation’s prosperity cannot be complete unless language, literature and culture are made strong. It is high time for the government to think seriously on ways to preserve literature.”

He said that social media has lately developed as an important vehicle for literary expressions and that changing technology has opened new dimension for presentation and access of art and literature.

The Communication Minister said the government was committed to ensuring policy provision for result oriented long term development of literature and sustainable impact on it.
