KMC begins deliberation on annual policies and programmes

Kathmandu, June 15: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun deliberations on its annual policies and programmes, which comprise 101 policy points across 11 key sectors.

Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol presented the Metropolis’s annual policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 BS during the 19th session of the Municipal Assembly held at City Hall on Sunday.

Calling for the active participation of all local bodies within the Metropolis to ensure the successful implementation of the proposed policies and programmes, Dangol stressed the importance of intergovernmental coordination and partnership in achieving shared development goals.

The policies and programmes for the coming fiscal year aim to complete projects that remain unfinished in the current fiscal year while advancing the KMC’s broader goals and objectives.

The policy framework covers a wide range of areas, including good governance and public administration, social development, education, youth and sports, accessible technology-based healthcare services, environment and sanitation, revenue mobilization, urban planning, infrastructure and urban development, heritage, culture and tourism, communication and information technology, and consumer welfare.
