Dang, July 4: The Lumbini provincial government has spent 47.20 per cent of its total budget for the current fiscal year 2082/83.
According to Narayan Prasad Poudel, Chief of the Provincial Comptroller’s Office, out of the budget of Rs 38.91 billion for the current fiscal year only Rs 18.36 billion has been spent as of mid-June.
Of the allocated budget, 50.67 percent has been spent on current expenditure while 44.92 percent has been spent on capital expenditure related to development and construction.
In the ministry-wise expenditure details, the Ministry of Health is at the forefront, with expenditure of 62.77 percent.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has implemented the budget at 50.26 per cent, the Ministry of Forest and Environment at 48.66 per cent, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation at 47.06 per cent, and the Ministry of Urban Development and Drinking Water at 43.10 per cent.
While the progress of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives is at 42.73 per cent, the Ministry of Social Development has implemented 36.41 percent, and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport has implemented 37.13 percent of its total allocated budget.
Meanwhile, the expenditure towards grants going to the local level has been satisfactory at 62.72 per cent progress by mid-June.
